I love this time of year. Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years and all the holidays just bring so much joy to my life with the amazing food, loads of family time, and all the Christmas lights and trees. It’s hard not to be wonderfully content looking at our Christmas tree, and I love dancing around my kitchen in pajamas and singing All I Want for Christmas is You. There’s just honestly nothing like it — I really just love this time of year.
Anddddd so speaking of PJ’s, when Ajay reached out to me about wanting to do an in-home session with his amazing wife and baby boy in their matching pajamas, I was beyond excited!! I mean, is there a better way to get into the holiday season than with a cozy session with your loved ones, all dressed up in adorable PJs? Nope. Not at all.
Y’all, this session was everything and more. Their house was PERFECT for an in-home session, and for those of you who are interested in ever having one, you should use their house as an inspiration (it might be better than Pinterest, let’s be honest). Their bedroom was clean (not cluttered!!) with white walls everywhere and lots of natural light (we took photos at 10 in the morning). Their bedsheets were white and bright, which just makes the photos so clear and beautiful. Their living room was clean with a cream colored sofa and a fluffy, off-white fireplace rug, and the Christmas tree added the perfect amount of holiday spirit for all the photos. Their house was honestly the best for this dreamy in house session, and I’m so thankful they invited me in to capture this sweet moment in their lives.
Oh my goodness. These photos just speak wonders to how amazing Ajay and Ashley are. These two eloped in Hawaii last year and now live in Tennessee with their 8 month boy who freaking killed this session! To be honest, he got a little grumpy at times, but we worked around it and Ashley and Ajay were patient and wonderful with him. This just happens sometimes with babies!! We went outside for a bit and that did him wonders — he loved every single second of it and became the happiest baby. I explain this just because I want to say this to parents: it’s okay if your child cries during the session or is grumpy — this is real life too! Having perfect smiling photos in every photo is usually not possible and realistic, so don’t strive for that. You’re still an amazing parent and your photographer still got amazing shots, don’t worry.
