Proposal & Elopement | Centennial Park, Nashville, Tennessee
OKAY — so Hezekiah and Jocelyn got engaged on a lovely Saturday morning… BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT THEY ELOPED AND GOT MARRIED TWO DAYS LATER. NOPE? WELL THEN SIT TIGHT AND LISTEN IN BECAUSE THESE TWO ARE HAPPILY MARRIED AND THIS WEEKEND WAS EPIC! I’ve been waiting to write this blog post and I’m so excited to share with you all how sweet and amazing of a weekend this was with two absolutely incredible humans and new friends!
First off, let me give you the rundown of the proposal (scroll down for elopement details). Hezekiah reached out to me when he was in Japan, asking if I was free to capture the proposal of his sweet at-the-time-girlfriend at Centennial Park. He wanted to surprise her at the park (she didn’t know that he was flying back from Japan early to do this!) while her family was having a family session to honor her, since she was leaving with Hezekiah to go back to Japan the next weekend. Hezekiah had all the little details planned out (from using Find My Friends WELL to diverting her attention from a rental car mishap) and near the end of this family session, he surprised Jocelyn, got down on one knee and sweet Jocelyn LOST IT. It was a joy to see them reunited AND to see a ring on her finger!
BUT OKAY — fast forward a couple of days to their elopement! See, Jocelyn and Hezekiah knew from the start that they wanted to get married on that Monday, BUT the proposal was a surprise because they wanted to mix it up and get engaged after they were married (so they could announce everything then) — this is why Jocelyn was so surprised to see Hezekiah — the proposal itself was a total surprise. But when Monday rolled around, they grabbed their formal attire and bouquet, marched over to the lovely courthouse in Davidson County, and tied the knot with the officiant there in the beautiful courtyard It was a lovely ceremony (just the four of us – Hezekiah, Jocelyn, the officiant, and me) and truly I’m just so honored to have been a part of this sweet day and to capture their memories! Congrats you two and I hope Japan is treating y’all well!!
