Wedding | Four Oaks Church Midtown, Tallahassee, Florida
Gabe and Destiny’s wedding was one for the books. These two have strong, beautiful, and wonderful personalities. Gabe is a fireball, but full of tenderness and care. Destiny is feisty and passionate, but full of intentionality, conviction, and fun. Together, these two make a magical and fierce couple, quick to love those around them and head-over-heels in love with Jesus.
This wedding — this beautiful start to their marriage — was unbelievable to witness. The coming together of two of God’s own children is wonderful, and I’m honored to have been a witness to their wedding, and even more to photograph these memories for the rest of their lives. What a treasure these two are!
Below is a list of the various vendors for this beautiful wedding — I know I’m missing so many more people behind the scenes, but it was so cool and wonderful to see Destiny and Gabe’s friends show up for them at their wedding!

Destiny and Gabe met at a Florida/Georgia football game, through mutual friends back in 2018. They talked at the event (Destiny’s first impression of Gabe was that he was a short man with LOUD energy) but nothing really came of it. The next weekend, however, they went to The Navigators “Juntos Conference” and they talked for over three hours about truly everything. That’s when their friendship began, and after they left the conference, they continued to keep in touch over Messenger and finally texting. They soon confessed that they liked each other, but Destiny had just gotten out of a toxic relationship and Gabe was trying to figure out how long-distance would work. They took a break and stayed friends for a few months, until July 4th, 2019… where they decided not to date for the foreseeable future (lol!). Of course, everything changed, and a few months later Gabe asked Destiny on their first date and Destiny flew down to Tallahassee. 10 months later he got down on one knee (on July 4th, 2020), and now they’re officially husband and wife! What a story of God’s goodness and sovereignty.
The wedding was absolutely beautiful. I had the honor of staying with the bridal party (I went to school with all of them, and I’ve gotten to know each of them through my time at Vanderbilt! What wonderful gals!!) and it was the sweetest time. However, Destiny’s mom and sister got COVID, and at the last minute could no longer attend the wedding — I can’t even tell you how heartbreaking that is, but you can imagine. So of course, getting ready was filled with numerous phone calls to the family, showing them every detail of the morning.
The venue was absolutely beautiful, and it’s also the church that Destiny and Gabe attend currently. Sweet Gabe cried as he read his vows for the videographer on the top floor of the church, they had their first look right outside the church, and these two got married a couple hours later in the chapel. We sang worship songs, the two of them took communion, and their vows gave us all chills. It was such a beautiful ceremony.
Destiny also did first look with her dad which was SO SWEET. It was such an emotional day without her mom and sister, but her family still showed up and it was such a beautiful day (did you catch the photos of her sister and mom in the front row of the chapel?).
The reception was so sweet and fun! There was a charcuterie lay for guests and the cutest table decorations. Destiny and Gabe shared their first dance as husband and wife, and then Destiny shared a sweet moment with her dad during their Father/Daughter dance. They cut the most beautiful cake that one of their sweet friends created for them, and the speeches and toasts by their bridal party were moving (absolutely hilarious at times, deep and intentional at others). Alll the little details of their reception were just PERFECT.
Anddd of course we did a fun extra round of photos! They were supposed to be sunset photos, but since you couldn’t see the sun actually setting, we just had a little more fun with these!!
To end their night, Destiny and Gabe shared a last dance before the sparkler send-off. These were some of my favorite parts of the evening, just because it felt so magical and intimate. Gabe said thank you to every guest as he walked his wife down the sparkler aisle and that was absolutely inspiring and beautiful to see.
I hope you love these photos as much as I do!! These two are out of this world, and I’m so grateful they’re married and that I got to document their beautiful day. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel and Destiny Mercer!
