Couples’ Session | Honeymoon in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee
Before you even read about how amazing Joe and Raven are and before I obsess over them for an extended amount of time, let me just tell you about how incredible the idea of having a honeymoon session is. This was honestly not even something that I had thought people would ever want to do, but Raven and Joe were the first to do it and I’m so on board with it.
A honeymoon session is exactly what it sounds like — you book a session with a professional photographer in the city of your honeymoon. If your honeymoon is abroad in Greece, you find a photographer on the beaches of Greece. If your honeymoon is on a cruise, you find a photographer in one of the islands you stop at. And for Raven and Joe, whose honeymoon was in the lovely city of Nashville, they booked a mini couples’ session with me. AND IT WAS THE BEST.
First off, they got epic photos of themselves in the place where they are intentionally celebrating the start of their marriage. Although they had to wait 6 months for their honeymoon because of COVID, they still wanted to document their time there, and what better way than to take photos with the skyline right behind you. These are the memories they can definitely cherish forever. Secondly, honeymoon photos were a great way to experience Nashville even more! I showed them the Nissan Stadium (well at least the outside of it ahahaha — we tried to brainstorm ideas of how to sneak Joe in, with Raven and I as diversions ), and we walked around the Pedestrian Bridge as well. I even got to send them all of my favorite Nashville recommendations, from restaurants to things to do (there’s nothing like a local giving you a customized list of things to hit!). They even went to my favorite Thai restaurant, The Smiling Elephant, right after the session and loved it!!
BUT OKAY. Now you know that you should have a honeymoon session. Now let me talk your ear off about Raven and Joe. Joe was NOT excited for photos — he’s just not a photo person, which is totally fine and understandable. He did this session out of pure love for his wife and first off, that spoke volumes to how much he loved Raven! Anddd secondly, I still think he ended up having a fabulous time because his smiles were genuine throughout the session! I knew he would absolutely hate the photos if I just made him stay still and be posed the entire time, so I tried to make this a fun experience instead 🙂
These two truly were the most beautiful part of this gorgeous Nashville evening (and that’s saying something because the weather in Nashville that day was REMARKABLE). They had so much fun just being in each other’s arms and it just really showed in every single one of their photos. They listened to my weird ideas and truly were just straight models and had a blast the entire time, laughing. I’m so so SO glad that I got to hang out with them and be a part of their special honeymoon. These two are truly in love and I’m honored to just even know them and be able to capture their love for generations to come. Raven and Joe, I wish you both years and years of this precious kind of joy and love that you both share!! I have so much love for y’all
