Wedding | L&L Farm, Cedar Hill, Tennessee
AHHHHH okay so these two are MARRIED and let me tell you that they are absolutely incredible. It’s been a joy to get our hilarious and silly and wonderful Rachael married to such an amazing guy who is so kind and generous and full of love for her and others.
Rachael and Tim met through their church. In the words of Rachael, she “spent lots of mornings at church crying in a corner”. Tim would check in on her from time to time, and eventually he reached out via Facebook and they went on their first date and they officially started dating on New Years.
Fast forward a bit, and I enter the picture (yay for thirdwheeling heheh). First off, you should know that I met Rachael through our college sorority back in the day and so I knew her fairly well. And if you remember the Finley Wedding in Colorado (go check it out right now if you haven’t), then you might know that Rachael was the Maid of Honor in that wedding. So, on the evening of The Finley wedding day, I ended up crashing with Rachael and Tim and our friend Heather and hanging out with them as I edited sneak peeks for the newlyweds. Classic post-wedding evening.
Soon, Heather needed to be driven to the airport for her flight, so Rachael volunteered and took off for the next hour or so, leaving Tim and I behind. Almost immediately after she had left, Tim (who I had known for about 10 hours at that point) told me that he needed to tell me something VERY important — and he proceeded to show me a photo of the engagement ring that he had JUST BOUGHT for Rachael!! AHHHH! (Later I found out that he had told basically everyone at the wedding – including people he didn’t know – because he was just that dang excited!). I freaked out with him and then had to play it cool for the next TWENTY FOUR HOURS since we stayed the night in the hotel and then the three of us flew back on the same flights back to Nashville from Colorado. VERY FUN AND EXCITING.
A few months later and on New Years (their anniversary), Tim proposed to Rachael at Radnor Lake and their months of wedding planning commenced. Now after this long season of engagement these two are finally married and MAN I’m just so honored to have such incredible friends as these two. Tim responds to all of my dumb joke Fridays and Rachael is always down to let me come over and use her label maker — they are really just gems and I’m so excited to see how they continue to love those around them intentionally and joyfully.
Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Newman!! Here’s to forever and lots of dad jokes and dogs and all the nuggetness!!
