When I saw that Mary Glenn was engaged on Instagram, I FREAKED out. First off, AHHHHH I was so dang happy. Secondly, the way that she had shared the announcement cracked me up — it was just so HER. Two photos, one with the ring and one without, and a caption of “can you spot the difference?” Truly perfect and truly her..
Let’s go back a bit in time to how I met MG in the first place. My sophomore year of high school, I ran cross country anddd dude it was hard. Practices every day, lots of long runs, and lots of hills. Oh MAN. But what kept me going (besides the weird love I had for running) was the community of friends that I made through cross country. And this included MG.
MG was by far not only kindest person I had ever met, but also the silliest. She knows how to brighten anyone’s day and her desire for intentionality makes you feel loved and known. I knew this from the first time I interacted with her on the cross country team, and even saw this on her wedding day.
For example, after the wedding ceremony, we were chatting for a bit between photos and MG asked me what my post-grad plans were. I told her that I was applying to nursing schools (she’s a nurse) and she freaked out, saying that I had just made her day.
I looked at her and doubled over, laughing. People, she had just gotten MARRIED. Her months of wedding planning had led to this day. And MG was just chilling over here, having intentional conversations, making me feel celebrated and loved, and telling me that I just made her day after being married to the love of her life. What a woman.
Casey and MG are such a duo and they take life as it is — simple and sweet. They rejoice in the beautiful things and stand strong in the hard things. Their relationship is full of so many laughs and man — you should have seen the epic dance party we had at the reception. They swept the floor, especially after their epic first dance.
Check these outtt!! Megan Whitley was their wonderful wedding planner, the girls got their hair done at The Blowout Co. Brentwood, and the ceremony and reception were at The Old Natchez Country Club (couldn’t recommend more highly!)
