Engagement Session | Ellington Agricultural Center
Jenny and Daniel got engaged on a lovely July evening in Nashville, Tennessee, in the home of one of their dear friends and mentors. Daniel had decorated the room with all of their messages and texts, tons of photos of the two of them, and proposed to her alone in the room. Then the two of them walked out with pure joy to the open arms of their friends in the house’s backyard. It was truly a party!!
If you want to check out the proposal, click here. Seriously, you’ll want to hear more of their story (and how Jenny kicked me!).
But now, they needed engagement photos! So they got all dolled up and we headed over to Ellington Agricultural Center. Daniel had gone on a run there a week before the session, and scouted several locations. We found a stream (yes, we took our shoes off and got into the water!), tall grass, large fields, cute trails, and everything in between.
I had shot a few times at Ellington, but never in the streams there. But I NEED to go back, that place was magical. The light came through the trees above and lit the waters ever so gently; it kinda felt like we were in another world.
Then we headed over to a nearby field with some tall grass, and the two of them frolicked around. Honestly, these are some of my favorite photos, because it just shows their JOY so clearly. Jenny can’t stay still when she’s happy, and as her photographer, I wasn’t about to kill her joy (it’s really one of my favorite things about Jenny!). So they ran around and cuddled together and just spent some sweet time together.
Then we headed over to the rest of the center — a trail, gazebo, bee’s hives, and some cute little cabins. The whole time we were chatting about various things, and at one point Jenny had me take a photo of some flowers to send to their wedding florist.
This is one of my all-time favorite shoots. It was sweet, beautiful, magical, and full of love and joy. These two LOVE each other and glorify God so boldly with their lives, and I’m so honored that I got to celebrate that with them!!
Check out these photos! I promise you won’t be disappointed.
