I feel like it’s normal for people to never talk to their high school friends again after you graduate from college, save for a couple of really good friends. However, I’m so glad that that’s not true of my life because I’ve gotten to hang out with so many of my high school friends for sessions lately and it’s been such a joy! Emily is one of these friends and I’m sooooo GLAD that I got to hang out with her and Paul and take some stunning engagement photos of the both of them!
I’ve known Emily for SO long – I honestly don’t know at what age we met, but it was a longggg time ago. We were in the same 4th grade class back at Crockett Elementary (maybe that’s how we met??) and we also played travel soccer together back when the soccer team was called the Brentwood Soccer Club (a throwback, I know). Now, she’s engaged to Paul, and they’re getting married this November — how crazy is that?! 4th grade to engagement just reminds me how fun it is to live life with friends over LONG periods of time. It feels so rare and amazing.
But okay — this session was so FUN. Paul and Emily kept cracking each other up and it was so easy to see how much they make each other happy, in just the simple things. We took photos at a beautiful park in Franklin, Tennessee which had some unique walls, cute barns, amazing lighting, a quiet and stunning pond — and their firecracker of a pup, Moose!
Emily’s mom hung out with Moose until we needed him for the photos (which I HIGHLY recommend doing! If you bring a pup to a session, bring someone along with you to hold the pup when you’re not taking photos! This will take ALL the stress out of doggo photos and makes your pup enjoy the photos more too!). Moose was a STAR and knocked his photos out of the park, even if all he wanted to do was lick my camera .
This was just such a beautiful and fun session and I’m so glad that these two are getting married! They’re so laid back and fun and just so precious together, and I can’t wait for their wedding. Cheers to the future newlyweds!
Love these two!! So beautifully captured, Angel!
