If you don’t know the Florey family, you’re really missing out on life.
Back in the day (man, that makes me sound old), I went to high school with Jessica and we graduated the same year from Ravenwood High School (G2BARR!). I also ran cross-country with Sabrina for a year, and with these two connections, I received a glimpse into the beautiful family of the Floreys. Sabrina and Jessica are both hilarious, fun, and joyful humans and their perspectives on life are so positive and full of life. Just to be clear, they don’t have some surreal, fantastical perspective of life — both of these women are down-to-earth. But there is something about their personalities that has just always screamed kindness and brought smiles to everyone around them.
A while ago, Jessica reached out and asked if they could have a family session. Knowing bits and pieces of their amazing family, I said yes, of course! The only thing I knew about their family, beside the fact that they were amazing and kind, was that Jessica had chicken minis from Chik-fil-a at her graduation party and that was where I had them for the first time (I don’t think anything had ever tasted that good before. Also this is truly THE most random fact in the world).
So, all I had to go on was “smiling family; kind; loves Chik-fil-a” and I mean, what else do you need to know about a family?
Y’all. This family ROCKED and their session was one for the books. We headed out to the lovely, and close by, Marcella Vivrette Smith Park and we had fun trying some new locations. The barn was closed off so we wandered among the grass, found a new fence, took some photos under the usual walkway, and in the large field.
But y’all — I mean the view was great and all, but these PEOPLE are remarkable. They laughed with each other, loved taking photos with each other, and just generally had so much fun in the evening. They ran around in the field and spun in circles — and the power of their close-knit community and ability to have fun with each other (after months of quarantining together) was so sweet and precious.

As you can obviously tell from this page, Angel is so personable and great to work with! She gives structure if you want it and has ideas on outfits, locations and timing of photos, but also allows for go with the flow during photo secessions (and obviously you have to have a lot of that while working with a family of 7). She allows for the fun and goofy moments to take place while still capturing the shots we needed!
