WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?!?!?!?!?
Britta and Fabian have made me rethink everything I know about weddings and community. By hosting their immediate family and two closest friends (and me!) in the mountains of Colorado for a four day wedding weekend, they removed every notion I’ve ever had of what it means to be intentional with their time on a wedding weekend.
They were SO intentional with every detail. They had their family stay in an AirBnb with them — to maximize the time they had together. They invited their godparents — people that they’ve adored since childhood and stayed in touch with through the years — to also be there for this incredible weekend. They chose an AirBnb location that was walking distance to fun restaurants and a farmer’s market for their guests, close to a mountain amusement park (YES we actually all went on the alpine coaster), and had dinner plans for each night (including a private chef dinner & a pizza night with two of their own pizza ovens).
I’m still in awe of how wonderfully orchestrated, yet so down to earth the entire weekend was — the sweetest first looks, the incredible views in the mountains (and doing your vows again so you guys could actually soak it all in), the choreographed father/daughter dance, the teary-eyed speeches and toasts by your family through the weekend, and just real and deep conversations with everyone (and Fabian’s long runs that to me, a non-runner in Tennessee, was insane).
And it was FUN. And we all got to actually chat and hang out with Britta and Fabian all weekend. What a beautiful time.
Britta and Fabian, I’m so glad Zara moved out to Colorado and that I’ve gotten to meet you both and become friends with y’all even before wedding shenanigans began. I’m glad you guys gave me the honor of photographing your wedding in the mountains, and for all of your hospitality and joy and friendship through the years.
