Wedding | Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, Charleston, South Carolina
Sam and Gabija met in undergrad at Vanderbilt and got engaged in the beautiful country of Lithuania. So of course they had to also get married in Charleston, at the stunning Magnolia Plantation and Gardens! This venue had the most gorgeous areas to photograph at — from the bridge over a pond (pictured above), to a beautiful tree-lined avenue, and even a riverside ceremony spot. It might have been a bit chilly, but the warmth of celebrating these two tying the knot kept us all cozy.
The day was so so lovely — Gabija’s friends helped her get dressed in the morning, and her and Sam had the sweetest (and giddiest) first look together. Everyone was dressed to the nines and just so excited to be there! Their ceremony was at sunset overlooking the lake (and they got to celebrate the Lord in their ceremony by breaking bread in communion) and the evening ended with dinner and cake in the beautiful reception hall!! The dance floor was full of children laughing and showing their best dance moves, and the toasts that were shared spoke so highly of both the bride and groom.
A night to remember.
Sam and Gabija, it’s always fun photographing friends who I met in undergrad, but you guys are something special. You’re hilarious and intentional, calm and spontaneous, giggly and full of life and just so easy to be around. You’re generous to everyone around you and always see the good and beauty in others. Truly, it’s my honor to have photographed your wedding! LET’S DO IT AGAIN!! (Also thank you for all of the literal perfect Charleston recs – I’m always going to be obsessed with Harken Cafe and The Codfather!). Praying for you guys and cheering you on in your marriage!!
