College Graduate | Wyatt Center + Kirkland Hall at Vanderbilt University
Mimi and I spent a lovely Thursday evening on a social distancing shoot on Vanderbilt’s campus. Mimi graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major in Child Development and Medicine, Health, and Society and a minor in Special Education. This fall, she is heading over to North Carolina to begin her graduate degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. How incredible is that?!!? I’m so excited to see her use her passions and talents for GOOD in this world.
Mimi and I met freshman year, and so it’s crazy to realize that four years have passed by. We’ve both learned so much over college, and it was amazing to just catch up and hear what she’s learned about in her last four years at Vanderbilt. Her journey with eating disorders was challenged on this campus, and we got to talk about therapy and her excitement of pursuing a career that helps people as people have helped her. Knowing Mimi’s four years here and how God has used each moment of these years — good or bad, easy or hard — to shape her has been an honor to watch.
We started out shoot at the steps of Wyatt Center, where Mimi spent a good deal of her undergraduate life in Peabody. We then ventured over to Stambaugh — the house that Mimi had lived in her freshman year. We took some sentimental photos in front of it, and then walked backed to our cars to drive over to Kirkland on the other side of campus. On the way to our cars, we saw a couple of Vanderbilt faculty members, who congratulated Mimi on her graduation, which was honestly so sweet and encouraging. Honestly, I feel like the class of 2020 can get by with a lot of things because of how our senior year ended, oops.
Check these photos out! They’re freakin’ stunning AND you’ll catch a glimpse of Shannon Flynn’s lovely earrings as well!
