This family session was definitely one for the books, and I seriously enjoyed every single second of it! The Luikens are such an amazing and kind family and we had an absolute blast taking photos of their two kids — a two year old and an 8 month old! My body was TIRED after the session (try getting two little ones to sit still and also be down to running around them to try to get photos of them as they keep turning haha — all the moms out there understanddd) but man oh man, it was so worth it! We truly had so much fun!
I met the Luikens about a year ago when I babysat for Davie for the first time, and they were the BEST. I mean I guess I didn’t hang out with Nanda and Grant (#babysitting) but y’all, Davie was the trophy babysitting child. We played with toys for a bit, but when I told him it was bedtime, he happily got up and let me help him get ready for bed, with zero complaining. After I swaddled him up and sang to him, he went right to bed with zero hassle. Literally an angel — what a sweet sweet boy. I can’t wait to babysit him again once COVID decides to chill.
But Nanda and Grant are just as amazing too, and it was so so good just to see them again, even if I had to wear a mask and it was for photos and not babysitting. They had their daughter, Juju, 8 months ago so this was my first time meeting her as well (well, in person. I’ve watched many Instagram stories with her in it). Juju is so bright and adorable, and Nanda and Grant put her in the most beautiful blue dress that set off her big, beautiful, blue eyes som so well. I’m freaking obsessed with this girl, she’s BEAUTIFUL. Also, her faces throughout the session just feel like an accurate representation of my feelings to 2020 so I just feel like she understood me on a deep level . What a nugget!!
In all sincerity, these photos are precious and I’m so glad I got to hang out with this sweet family and take these family photos!! Ugh – I hope you appreciate these as much as I do! Enjoy 🙂
