I think one of the most common questions I get during a wedding inquiry is “what exactly is a bridal session?”. Which totally makes sense — it’s extra coverage beyond your wedding day and engagement session, and some photographers have different meanings for it so it’s just really confusing! However, these sessions can end up including some of the sweetest photos you’ll ever have of yourself so keep reading if you want to learn more.
A bridal session can be one of two things. First, it can be a session of just the bride in her wedding attire, at her preferred location of choice. For this one, Katelyn chose her wedding venue and so we got to take some incredible photos of just her in her stunning wedding gown with her hair and makeup done! This is a great option if you want to have lots of bridals (photos of just the brides) and want to see if your hair and makeup will look good for your dress. Katelyn also took one photo from this session, blew it up, and printed it on a huge canvas to use as a decoration for their actual wedding day a month later!
The other kind of bridal session is one where both the bride and groom are there, and this typically taken the day after the wedding or a while after the wedding. This is a great option for people who don’t want to spend a lot of time on their actual wedding day taking portraits, want to take photos in a totally different location (ie, top of a mountain, favorite date spot, etc.) OR if it’s raining or just bad weather on your wedding day! It’s a great reason to wear your wedding attire again as well 🙂
Soooo if you’re leaning towards a bridal session and have some space in your budget for it, scroll through this blog post and see how beautiful it can be! It will definitely be worth your time and effort and money if you are thinking about it 🙂
Katelyn, it’s been so fun getting to know you for so many years AND to meet your fiance and capture your wedding day!! Love you friend ❤️
