Joe and Sarah have been dating for so many years now and I knew I just needed to hang out with them and take some sweet photos. The results were pure magic.
I’ve known Sarah for basically my whole life and she was the first person who ever modeled for me. We would borrow her mom’s camera and take tons of random (superrrr basic) photos in her backyard and had a TON of fun. I remember telling her that she looked like Taylor Swift in one of the shoots and I think she almost cried (I don’t know a more true fan of T-Swizzle than Sarah).
Sarah and I met back in the 4th grade, when we had the same teacher at Crockett Elementary (shout-out to Mrs. Harrison, who I ran into on 12 South recently!). We did so many things together. At recess, she taught me the five basic positions of ballet. We learned sign language together so we could communicate across a classroom. She convinced me to read Harry Potter, and it’s my favorite series (part of the deal was that she would read The Warriors series, but that didn’t happen ). We made Powerpoint presentations together, went on field trips, had all of our elementary lunch meals together, hung out after school, bet on whether her youngest sibling would be a boy or girl (he was a boy!), gave nicknames to people, had book clubs together, and truly so much more.
Sarah has continued to be a strong support in my life, past elementary school. She’s incredibly intelligent and talented, and well-versed in the English language, which means that she edits the living daylights out of everything I write. She told me that the first draft of my high school speech was trash (kindly) and helped me write a new one. She has edited sooo many of my papers, college essays, and now continues to edit photography guides for me. She’s a wonderful human and friend.
Last year, Sarah graduated early from The University of Alabama, double majoring in English and Public Relations. I had the opportunity to drive down to Alabama, meet her extended family and roommates, and celebrate this incredible achievement of her life. She is now attending the University of Alabama School of Law, and is KILLING it.
If you don’t know Sarah, you’re missing out. She’s a true joy, the most faithful of friends, has carried me through SO much in my life, and continues to be humble, wise, and compassionate. Everyone needs a friend like her.
Sorry for that rant about Sarah, but seriously. Check out these photos! I love these nuggets so much — Joe is sweet, hilarious, incredibly talented, and as Sarah described him to me in high school “a big teddy bear.” He is also incredibly intelligent, and he graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Management Information Systems and is now an Analyst with BlackRock in their Portfolio Analytics Group. What a star!!
You won’t want to miss these photos and just see a glimpse into their relationship. Check these out!
