College Graduate | Wyatt Center + Kirkland Hall at Vanderbilt University
Emily O’Brian is now a Vanderbilt graduate! She graduated from Vanderbilt in May 2020 with majors in English and Medicine, Health, and Society and honors in both Medicine, Health, and Society and the College of Arts and Science.
Em is one of the most hard working, passionate, and caring individuals that I know. We met before freshman year at Vanderbilt, were in the same Vanderbilt Visions group, joined campus organizations together (and switched between some together as well, #iykyk), and were suitemates this past year (she pulled us into the BEST suite on campus!!). She was so involved with each of her organizations and positions on campus, and I know that many orgs are at a huge loss without her dependable and fun spirit.
Also for those who ask, Emily got her dress from Magnolia Boutique, recommended by Corinne Hamrick! Check their clothes OUT. They have free shipping and their stuff is CUTTEEEE.
I honestly didn’t think this shoot would happen. Emily, her sister, and her mom were coming back to Nashville to move everything out of the suite and would only be in town for less than 48 hours. If you glanced at the weather app for Nashville that week, you would see thunderstorms for EVERY SINGLE DAY of that week. However, after being on campus for 4 years, we knew that Nashville weather could always surprise us, so we still stuck with our plan and met at Kirkland circle at 8:30am.
I promise you — it drizzled and poured right until 8:30am, stopped raining for the next hour, and then started drizzling again at 9:35am. THANK YOU GOD. That hour was perfect, and we didn’t need the umbrellas and raincoat that I brought.
(As a side note, I love shooting in anything, but I have a huge love for cloudy days. You may think it sucks, but cloudy days give you the freedom to have “shade” basically everywhere AND you don’t have to stare into the sun ever! Don’t hate on cloudy days for shoots!)
Emily is proud to share that she will be continuing her education at Vanderbilt University by pursuing a Master’s in Higher Education Administration starting in the fall of 2020. She’s beyond excited for this program and 100% believes that it is the perfect fit for her personality and passions (and I wholeheartedly agree!!).
Check these photos out! These might just be some of my favorite photos on this lovely campus (with one heck of a woman and friend!).
