I love shooting with new clients, even if I already know them and they’re actually old friends. I feel like people see a whole new side of me when I’m photographing (a VERY hype, excited weird child honestly) and it’s so cool to introduce that side to people I already know! Enter Dylan and Courtney.
I know these two from my time at Vanderbilt and they’ve been dating as long as I’ve known them. They are both kind, fun, and wonderful people and it was so fun to take on this session with them! Courtney and I chatted a lot beforehand, deciding on clothes and location. She wanted this session to be a celebration of their 2 year dating anniversary (EEP!) and she wanted to rent a dress. Personally, I’ve never rented a dress (if you know me, I love Plato’s Closet and online shopping at Target) but I’m glad she’s experienced at this because WOW. She chose this BEAUTIFUL yellow sparkly (and suuuuuuper soft) dress from Nuuly and we LOVED IT. It looked so dang good on her. If you haven’t rented from Nuuly, try it out!
Choosing a location was suuuuuper hard. Courtney wanted a field with flowers — however, the prime time for flower fields is the end of September in Nashville and so we missed out on that vibe (we are trying again next year! fingers crossed because that would be romantic as HECK). Shoutout to all the flower farms we emailed and their kind replies about using their farm as a location for the session. Anyway, in the end we ended up choosing the classically beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge in Franklin, TN. If you’ve never been PLEASE GO CHECK IT OUT. The best times to go are either sunrise or sunset — I’ve done both throughout my life growing up here, and it’s beautiful. I highly recommend Dunkin Donuts after your sunrise, too, and if you go for sunset, grab some food from Loveless Cafe and have a mini picnic by the bridge.
All in all, I seriously had a fabulous time with these two. They were so kind to each other throughout the session, had the BEST serious faces, are absolutely beautiful and handsome, and are just so in love with each other (and it shows)!! I’m so so thankful for this sweet time to celebrate the two of them and capture their love. I hope you love these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!
