Okay these two were such a joy to hang out with and take some stunning engagement photos of — Mike kept us laughing the entire session (yes, I bent over in a full belly laugh in the middle of photos because of something he said — like GENUINELY funny) and Kirsten was precious and fun and so relaxed – they are honestly just the best team and it made me more excited to get them married this year!!
But okay – storytime! Mike and Kirsten met on Bumble back in May 2016 and finally met in person in June. Their first date was supposed to be to the CMA fest, but it got cancelled and Mike ended up taking pizza over to Kirsten’s and they talked for four hours — just about everything in life. They were both shy people, but this time together was sweet and wonderful and brought out their personalities, and Kirsten just remembers how easy it was to talk to Mike and how genuine of a man he was. She was SO pleasantly surprised by how honest Mike was, and after this first date they never looked back!
Fast forward to December 2020, Mike got down on one knee (with the help of Ryleigh who held a “Will you marry my dad?” sign ) and Kirsten said yes! These two have been together for 5 years and their relationship is so incredible and mature and wonderful.
My favorite fact about Mike and Kirsten? They’ve been together for so long, but only have a couple handfuls of photos together. They just have never been a fan of taking photos or dressing up for photos, and so their engagement session was such a new and different way for them to spend their time. I’m so glad I got to give them some beautiful photos for them to cherish!! Kirsten’s reaction to the photos was EVERYTHING, “OH MY GOSH!! I just opened [the link]! And OBSESSED. Doesn’t even begin to describe them! THANK YOU! You captured us PERFECTLY! Can’t wait to show Mike and everyone else!!!” I love that so SO much.
These two are incredible and so laidback (their go-to date is going to the movies together and just relaxing – literally Kirsten and Mike are going to be the best bride and groom around I’m so pumped) and I’m so grateful that I get to capture their special day this year!!
