When a snow storm hits Tennessee, everything goes into a standstill. Northerners like to complain about this and say that “southerners don’t know what real snow is” or that “this is nothing” and I mean that may be true, but it mostly just comes down to the fact that it’s so rare for us to have snow and ice that it’s not worth it to have numerous snow plows and such — instead, we shut down for a while.
And so, the second to last week of February looked like a shutdown all over the south, including Nashville. The first few days of the storm was basically just ice everywhere until Thursday where we got a solid 3 inches of snow. Doctors’ offices closed, restaurants closed, Uber closed — everyone just sat in their houses and worked in the snow. Anddddd some people made the best of it — I saw tons of snowmen on my regular walks, my neighbor’s made an igloo, and I held some mini sessions in the snow, down the road from where I live (I felt like I was in the 1800s, walking to work, with my camera in hand that felt like a lunchbox ahahah).
Guys, snow sessions are the BEST sessions, and if you ever get a chance, PLEASE take the time to get photos of yourself done in the snow. It’s beautiful and timeless, romantic and cozy, and just so classy and glamorous. Every single one of these couples were OBSESSED with their photos, and I’m just so glad I got to hang out with them and have a rockin’ time in the snow with them.
A little bit about the couples: we have some returning couples — Annabel and Zack came to the mini session in the fall and their couples’ session was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Annabel returned with the CUTEST snow outfit ever and I’m in love with their photos. Emma and Austin also came to the same mini session day and I’m so glad they came back, and this time with their sweet dog Belle!! We had a MARVELOUS time!! Destiny and Gabe got married in December in Florida and I got to be a part of their big day, and I’m so glad we got to take some more photos here in Nashville, especially in the snow (Gabe is a Tally boy and this is his first snow storm and he LOVED IT). Mason and Kiley joined me for the first time and also just got engaged a few weeks ago! We had a blast taking precious engagement photos in the snow and I’m sooooo happy with how their photos turned out! And lastly, Anna and Darby came out and had a fun mini session with me and I’m so grateful for their kindness and flexibility!
Check out these photos and just SEE the joy behind each one! I love love these people so MUCH!
