Engagement | Ellington Agricultural Center

Mark and Ariana are two college sweethearts who got engaged in December of 2019 after many years of dating and they are PRECIOUS. We chose a chilly February morning to take their photos at one of my favorite locations — Ellington Agricultural Center. We adventured the whole area per usual and just had fun hanging out with each other.

My possible favorite part of the shoot was probably this wood-based sitting area with a koi pond in the center of it, pictured below. It was just so random and gorgeous and seemed like it’s own world in the middle of the huge agricultural center. We took some unposed photos of just staring at this beautiful pond and I loveeee these!

I know these two quite well. Mark is basically the second Asirvatham son and comes over all the time to just eat our food and sleep on our couch, and we truly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ariana and I led a bible study for The Navigators, a Christian campus ministry, at Vanderbilt together. In addition, we were sisters in our sorority together and would joke for a long time that she was my almost-sister-in-law because of Mark. She’s been a mentor and a friend to me through the years and her wisdom is convicting and gracious.

We had SO much fun on this shoot. I forgot to bring a speaker to play music, but of course that has never stopped me from dancing and finding ways to entertain. Instead, I started whistling “A Whole New World” from Aladdin and BAM — Ariana and Mark joined in (in the middle of photos) and we basically became the best concert to ever exist.

Also, Mark did SO GOODDDD on the ring. Isn’t it gorgeous? I loveee taking ring photos and so this ring did not disappoint in the slightest.

I’m so so excited for these two! Ariana is currently a middle school teacher in the middle Tennessee region and Mark conducts research at Vanderbilt (which we actually discussed a lot during this shoot, since his research looks into how the body reacts under cold temperatures). God is going to be hugely glorified by the lives of these two and I know that they will continue to impact so many lives, as they have touched mine and my family’s.
