Wedding | Chapman Hill Weddings & Events, Jefferson, Georgia
MAGICAL.
That’s the best way that I can describe this beautiful wedding at Chapman Hill Weddings & Events, down in Jefferson, Georgia (about an hour northeast of Atlanta). Like seriously — I’m obsessed with this wedding and this venue and Kali and Brian. From the Haneys’ stunning details that popped on the red, Kali’s out-of-this-world dress, and the teary first look with dad, to the hilarious groomsmen toss of Brian, the UNBELIEVABLE bride and groom photos, and the most precious dances — I can’t tell you how honored I was to be a part of this wedding day. Getting these two married was the BEST.
I’m undone. Seriously — I’m almost speechless by how perfect this day was.
So first, let’s meet the newlyweds — Mr. And Mrs. Brian and Kali Haney! They met at a Navigators Fall Conference (again, we LOVE Navs), but they didn’t really get to know each other until they both served on EDGE together (in Kali’s words – “EDGE corps, marriage corps – am I right?”). In addition, they were both on a Blue Ridge missions team and so were fundraising for that at the same time — needless to say, they had a lot of Zoom calls together. From there, Brian tested the waters by making fun of UGA for losing to USC, and from there they never stopped talking!!
Their wedding was beautiful and honestly, I’m obsessed with their wedding squad and their people (two of Kali’s bridesmaids are also my 2020 brides, and one of her bridesmaids is another one of my 2021 brides!!). Some people couldn’t make it to the wedding due to COVID, but they still showed up through FaceTime and I know that meant so so much to Kali. Their closest friends cried with the two of them, tossed Brian wayyyyy up in the air, and just celebrated this day with them in unforgettable ways. It was precious to see how loved and cared for Brian and Kali are, and how well they support and encourage those around them. Oh, and the teary eyed first look with dad was too MUCH for my heart ).
Brian and Kali also opted out of having a first look, and decided on a first touch instead. During this time, they chatted with each other, prayed together, and Brian read a letter that he wrote for Kali. It was PRECIOUS y’all.
The ceremony was beautiful and many, many tears were shed. It was a bit chilly, so the bridesmaids and Kali had pashminas on, which definitely made the wedding so classy and magical. The Haneys had various friends and guests read Scripture and lay hands over them in prayer. It was a precious and God-glorifying ceremony, and their kiss at the end was such a moment of celebration! Right after the ceremony, and before family portraits, the family gathered together for communion, and it was a sweet time of celebrating God’s work in their lives. What a beautiful ceremony.
And then, we came to the part where Angel freaks out every five seconds — the magical, STUNNING, bride and groom portraits. Obviously, we had a dang good time (Brian couldn’t stop laughing at my commentary ahahaaha, and the cows were a solid plus), but let me take this time to talk about the newlyweds:
Brian’s favorite thing about Kali is that Kali is ALWAYS willing to sacrificially love those around her. Whether it’s through spikeball or a deep conversation, Kali is ALWAYS there to love on those around her in a genuine and real way. On the flip side, Kali loves that Brian asks great questions, seeks to truly know people, and is quick to ask for forgiveness and live in humility. Together, they make a great team that listens well, loves deeply, and glorifies God. What a DUO!
From there, we went to the beautiful and lively reception right down the hill. Dinner was heckaaaa good (if you know me, you know I love my food) and all of the dances were so sweet and made me all squishy inside (especially when I saw their parents crying!!). The toasts were wonderful — hilarious, encouraging, sweet, and deep — and the rest of the evening was beautiful as well. We ended the night with a beautiful sparkler send-off and these two drove off to a chorus of celebration.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading all of my sappiness and I hope you are as obsessed with this wedding as I am. Ugh, my heart is FULL. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Brian and Kali Haney!
