Wedding | Nolensville First United Methodist Church, Nolensville & Franklin, Tennessee
Annelise and Nick met in college during an all-SEC Student Government trip. Little did they know when they first introduced themselves to each other, that they had just met their life partner and new best friend. That weekend was full of Walgreens trips and horror movies, but their dating relationship didn’t start for months later, only after they each ghosted each other (they’ll both tell you that the other person ghosted them), a “not-a-date” date, and lots of really easy conversation. After lots of late nights of “studying” together in the library and Annelise saying they shouldn’t continue their relationship, they finally gave it a try and on October 9h they’ve officially become husband and wife.
Their day was ridiculously amazing. On a personal note, I absolutely LOVED Annelise and Nick’s vows. I’m usually a huge fan of traditional vows (there’s just so much depth tucked into each phrase) but I loved the simplicity and truth in each of their vows. Nick went first, sharing his heart with total humility, and describing how Annelise has never made him feel less than or looked down upon him for any mistake that he has ever made. She has always loved and respected him, unconditionally, and that says so much about Annelise and his joy and honor in marrying her.
Annelise’s vows stood out to me as well. My favorite sentence (or something along these lines) was “I love how God created two totally independent and capable people and brought them together”. This speaks VOLUMES to each of their characters. They don’t see the other person as merely “completing” them or “making them whole”. Instead, these two are total world-changers on their own, and through the grace of God they’ve come together to impact more lives in powerful ways through their marriage. Wow.
How incredible is that? I cried many many tears at the beauty of their words.
October 9th was the best day ever. Spending time with these two, even for an entire day as just their photographer (and chauffeur and car-DJ) just showed me just how truly incredible they both are. I’m so honored that they chose me to be their wedding photographer (Annelise is a photographer so lemme tell you IT’S AN HONOR) and that I got to hang with them and their squad. So many tears were shed, the dance floor was shred, and they each left with another ring on their fingers — I call that a perfect day.
Well, what are you waiting for? Scroll through but make sure you have a box of tissues. You’re in for a ride. I love y’all, Annelise and Nick!! Cheers to YOU GUYS!
