Family | Franklin, TN

I love this time of year, because I have family sessions left and right as families try to get photos done before Christmas cards are sent out. It’s truly SO FUN for me, because I love to hang out with kids and see their parents again year after year — it’s super sweet. And family sessions aren’t boring, people — we run around, do the tightest hugs, and just have tons of fun doing weird things. It’s literally so so FUN and one of my favorite types of sessions.

Cue the freakin’ wonderful Schmalz family. AND THEIR CUTIE DOG.

I know the Schmalz through church — they were part of the leader team for the college group and were always the BEST in getting to know all of us and helping us connect with each other. They are so unbelievably kind, hilarious, intentional, and just so amazing. They’re truly the best, and when Becky reached out about doing a family session, I was sooooo down for it because I just love these two so so much.

And their kids are just as amazing!! Their son is best of pals with my dad (lol) because my dad was his Sunday school teacher for a bit, and they had so much fun together. And their sweet girls are SO fun, and had the best time during the session. They brought all the energy to the session (also Molly can do her makeup wayyyy better than I can so there’s that too). Truly just the sweetest and best family around.

Anyway, I sent them the gallery this week and Becky’s response was so sweet and just everything. “Girl…I’m crying! These pictures are a completely perfect depiction of my family! I just can’t even! So thankful for you!” Oh what a sweet sweet family. I’m thankful for them as well.

Oh and did I mention, that we took all of these photos on their property? YUP. It’s fine, I’m obsessed with everything about this session and how beautiful their property is and how beautiful this entire family is. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!
