In my time in college, there have been a few things that stand out that have brought me so much joy and life every single day. One of these things has been community, and a lot of this community was brought by The Navigators.
I joined The Navs my sophomore year of college, after moving over from another amazing college ministry. I remember my first day of joining, because I met Abbey Leon, one of my closest friends, mentors, and at the time, my new bible study leader. She loved me and showed me grace upon grace, and was just a wondrous mirror for the Gospel. I was shaken to my core — are there people out there who actually want to serve me and know me? Wow.
I wanted to love others as I’ve seen Abbey and Christ love and serve me, so I became a student leader with Navs. I lead a freshman bible study group with another one of my favorite humans — Ariana George (wow, these two women JUST GOT MARRIED and so it’s so weird to say their new last names!!). Anyway, bible study with Ariana was refreshing and encouraging and we LOVED our bible study girls.
And that’s how I met Rachel, one of our beautiful girls. I first met Rachel in Commons — the freshman side of campus, where we met for coffee and just to learn more about the other person. And guys. If you’ve never gotten coffee with Rachel, YOU NEED TO. This woman is one in a million. She is so passionate, hilarious, logical, curious, honest, and down-to-earth, and it’s honestly just refreshing. She brings a new perspective to life and friendship, asking GOOD, intentional questions and listening well to their answers. She brought so much life and wisdom to our bible study, and I’m just so thankful that she was a part of our study.
This woman is absolutely incredible, and when she reached out a while back to do a shoot with me, my heart overflowed. It’s SO FUN to take photos of people who I met in college, especially in this time of COVID and transitioning and moving away from a lot of my sweet Vandy community.
Y’all. This woman is incredible and you just need to meet her, sit down, and hear about her life, dreams, perspectives. You’ll be so impressed, I promise. Check out these LOVELY photos of her! We had soooo much fun catching up and hanging out on campus 🙂 I love my sweet friends!
Aww thank you Angel!! So glad we met as well— you’re the best!
